Medication injection
There are several types of injections depending on the prescribed medication. These include intramuscular (IM) injections, which are given into the muscle, and subcutaneous (SC) injections, which are administered into the fat layer just beneath the skin.
If you are required to regularly inject medication, you can ask the nurse to show you the most appropriate way to administer it yourself at home. This option obviously depends on the type of medication and injection you need.
If you need to regularly inject medication, the nurse may be able to provide you with training so that you can administer the medication yourself at home. This depends on the type of medication and the type of injection.
