The Benefits of Women’s Hormone Therapy

The goal of our approach is to help you restore optimal hormonal balance in order to improve your quality of life. Hormonal regulation may contribute to:

  • Reducing persistent fatigue
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Stabilizing mood swings or anxiety
  • Supporting sexual well-being
  • Decreasing hot flashes or night sweats
  • Optimizing vitality and cognitive function

Our approach

At Clinique NIOS, each hormone therapy plan is personalized according to your situation: regular or irregular cycles, perimenopause, menopause, and more. Our nurse practitioners in primary care (NP-PC) assess your needs, determine the appropriate tests, and adjust your treatment to provide optimal support.

Appointment process

Comprehensive evaluation and personalized follow-up

During the first appointment, a complete consultation is conducted with our nurse practitioner in primary care (NP-PC). She takes the time to assess your symptoms, medical history, and hormonal profile. Depending on your situation (regular cycle, irregular cycle, menopause, etc.), a personalized plan is proposed.

Hormonal testing

Hormonal analyses may be recommended to establish a clear picture of your hormonal balance. When cycles are regular, testing is generally done as follows:

  • Day 3 of the cycle: FSH, LH, estradiol, total progesterone, prolactin

  • Day 21 of the cycle: estradiol and total progesterone

Tests can be performed on site (at a fixed cost) or through the public health system, according to your preference. If your cycle is irregular or absent (e.g., menopause), our team will adapt the timing and selection of tests to your clinical profile.

General blood work (if needed)

If no complete blood work has been performed in the past year, additional tests may be recommended depending on your clinical situation.

This panel may include: CBC, ferritin, lipid profile, ALT, creatinine, electrolytes, TSH, HbA1C, urinalysis.

Results follow-up

Results are reviewed promptly, usually within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. Clinical follow-up, explanations, and adjustments as needed are included in the process.

Follow-up consultation

A second appointment may be suggested to complete the hormonal evaluation or adjust treatment based on the results.

Occasional or annual consultations may also be recommended depending on your progress, with the option of performing additional tests if necessary.
